Guess what? We’re playing Milkboy’s 3rd Anniversary event. It’s August 15th and the tickets are completely free!! Hope to see you all there 🙂

Hey guys,

It’s been a minute so I wanted to give you a quick update on what we’ve been up to these past few weeks. Hopefully some of you were able to tune in for our recent Live at 5 session for the amazing Radio 104.5 in Philly. We played our recently released single “Perfect Vision” and, as is the tradition, selected one cover. We went with Lorde’s “Team,” which we had a blast doing… so much in fact that we also wound up making a recorded version over at Springhouse Sound. Maybe we’ll even release it someday! 😉

We also played Union Transfer last Friday night opening for Cheers Elephant and the now-sadly-on-hiatus Toy Soldiers. The night was incredible from start to finish – probably our most memorable show to date and playing Union Transfer has always been a dream of ours. We were truly honored.

In other Philly news, we play our next show at Milkboy Philly on August 15th. It’s part of their three-day birthday party extravaganza. And the best part? The tickets are free! You can read all about it here:

We’re also very excited to announce that we’ll be posting a music video for “Perfect Vision” in the very near-ish future, so keep an eye out for that!

Lastly, you can expect to hear a brand new song in a few short weeks. There will also be an EP to follow. Can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Three fifths of Philly outfit Cheerleader stopped in to talk with Allie about their Connecticut beginnings, recent overseas tour and impressive record collections. Speaking of records, their latest single “Perfect Vision” will soon be available on limited edition vinyl (with another new track “Waiting, Waiting” as a b-side) so be sure to add it to your already immaculate music library.

Listen to the aforementioned tunes plus three demos on the band’s Soundcloud and if you’re so inclined to leave them love letters/prison mail, please do so via their Facebook and Twitter. (Note: Prison mail is not recommended.)

A great interview about our sound, name, and more!

Hey all!
We are back from the UK and putting some finishing touches on our next release while also preparing for some local shows. The next one is June 7th at Boot and Saddle on Broad Street. We are psyched to be playing with Philly bands Langor and Dream Safari and to share some brand new songs with you!

Our UK schedule was jam packed. We played 7 shows in 8 days with only two days off. We explored museums, worked on the record, and when we had time we went out for a “pint” or two. We traveled the countryside playing music together and life was just like a dream.

We made many new friends in England and we were reunited with some old ones. Thank you all for being so supportive! It was incredible to feel so much love so far from home. Thanks to The Hold Steady too for taking us with them on the road for a couple shows. In Manchester we were able to watch from side stage as they awed a sold out crowd at Academy 3. They were amazing and they put EVERYTHING into their music. They’re the real deal. We also opened for a new Canadian band called Alvvays, and if you don’t know who they are yet, you should definitely get familiar!

The NME stage at Corn Exchange for the Great Escape Festival was the high point of the journey. We pulled up to the venue and the streets were flooded with people. There was so much electricity and excitement in the room — I know all the guys in the band will remember that show for a very long time.

British Bests:
The coffee (its just better)
Beans for breakfast
The view of Tower Bridge
The accents

P.S. thanks to our uk tour manager rob roberts. he was guide and we couldn have done it without him

P.P.S. – for those who didn’t catch us this time through, don’t worry. we promise we’ll be back!

Cheers!

-Paul

Hey Everyone,

Summer’s almost here… painfully close, really. I’m sitting by the backyard fire pit, taking in both the spring breeze and a glass of Bastille on the rocks. It’s been a busy few weeks here at Cheerleader HQ (aka our rehearsal spot), and it’s starting to look like summer is going to be a whole lot of fun.

First and foremost, we want to send a huge “THANK YOU!” to all of you who have been sending us so many thoughtful, positive reactions to our new single, “Perfect Vision.” Our friends at Neon Gold premiered the single this past Tuesday, and we’re seriously amazed by the response we’ve gotten in just these past few days. If you haven’t had a chance to hear it yet, you can stream it for free above. It will be available for worldwide download on Monday, April 28, and our UK friends can get it on vinyl on June 16th courtesy of Young & Lost / Bright Antenna.

Speaking of the UK… we’re heading across the pond in a few days for a week-long UK tour! In addition to playing at The Great Escape festival in Brighton, we’ll be sharing the stage with Alvvays and even doing a few dates with The Hold Steady. Before we take flight to London, you can catch us at Glasslands in Brooklyn on May 3rd with Computer Magic and Corbu.

Don’t worry, Philly, we haven’t forgotten about you! We’ll be doing a headlining show at Boot & Saddle on Saturday June 7th – fresh with some new tunes, more vocal harmonies, and maybe even a surprise or two. Hope to see you there!

– Carl

we got back last tuesday from our first trip down to Austin for the annual sxsw fest. going in, we were super-thankful to have the opportunity to participate in this awesome event, and our expectations were totally exceeded. we had a great time, met so many cool people, saw a ton of bands, and got to play music at some really sweet venues. thanks so much to everyone who helped us get down there, and helped us set up our showcases, unofficial and otherwise. there are a ton of people to thank; you know who you are. there are so many awesome music enthusiasts out there, and we couldn’t be more appreciative that you’ve taken an interest in our band. not only did we have an amazing time, but we also learned a lot in the process. we’re already looking forward to going back next year!

while a lot of our time right now is being spent recording new material, writing new songs, and rehearsing, we’ve also got some live shows coming up. we’ll be playing another local philly show at milkboy on saturday, april 12th with parade of lights. hope you can make it!

also, we’re very excited to announce that we’ll be playing at the Great Escape festival in brighton this may. this will be our first time in the UK and we can’t wait. we’ve heard so many great things. more details on this to follow.

last (but certainly not least), our plan is to have a new single out to y’all in the next few weeks. this will be our first proper studio recording to reach your ears and we can’t wait to share it!

anyways, just wanted to get everybody up to speed. until the next time… <3 xoxo <3

Hey Everybody,

Just wanted to give y’all an update on what the band has been up to. For the past month we’ve been busy writing and recording new material, and rehearsing like crazy. You can expect to hear some new songs in the not too distant future… maybe even an album, who knows. We also played our second official Philly gig last Monday with the ultra-hip Fiance and TeleVibes on the stage downstairs at Kung Fu Necktie. Thanks so much to KFN and everybody who made it out! We all had a blast, and can’t wait to start playing out in Philly more often.

SXSW is right around the corner, and we are psyched to make the trip down to Austin. It will be the first time down there for Cheerleader, and we’ve heard so many great things about it. We’ll be making a stop on the way down in Little Rock, AR to play a show with a really cool group called Knox Hamilton at Stickyz. We’ll be doing four shows while we’re in Austin. Details below… Hope to see you there!

Tuesday, 10 pm – Audiofemme, Trinity Upstairs, 607 Trinity St.
Wednesday, 1 pm (outside) – Banners, Side Bar, 602 E. 7th St.
Thursday, 11 pm – Official Showcase, Old School Bar, 401 E. 6th St.
Saturday, 8 pm – Rachael Ray Feedback House, 1102 E. Caesar Chavez

Anyway, I’ll keep this short and sweet. Thanks again to everyone for your love and support! xoxo
